About the race

The ZAGREB21 half marathon race is the main discipline of the Zagreb Spring Half Marathon, which attracts experienced runners and recreational runners from Croatia and abroad.

Basic information:

  • Trail length: 21.1 km (21,098m).
  • Date: Sunday, March 22, 2026.
  • Start time: 8:30 am.
  • Location: Start and finish in front of the National and University Library in Zagreb, on Hrvatske bratske zajednice Street.

ZAGREB21 – Zagreb Spring Half Marathon is a road athletics race with a total length of 21,098m. The race consists of two laps of different lengths and competitors cross the finish line after completing the second lap – the first lap is 16.1km long and the second is 5km. The race time limit is 3 hours.

All healthy competitors can participate and everyone runs at their own risk. By registering for the race, the competitor waives the possibility of transferring responsibility to the race organizer and confirms his state of health and readiness to finish the race. The organizer provided medical protection in accordance with the rules for holding road athletics races.

Anyone over the age of 16 on the day of the race can take part in the half marathon. People under the age of 16 may not participate in the half marathon race.

Refreshments are provided during the race in accordance with the rules of road races and are only allowed at designated locations and in the finish area. Additional refreshments are also provided at the finish area. Timing is electronic with the use of chips, and all results will be published immediately after the end of the race on the website www.utrka.com.

All competitors will have a net (chip start) and gross time (time from the starter’s signal to start the race until the competitor crosses the finish line). The gross time of the competitors is taken as the official ranking in accordance with the rules of World Athletics (World Athletics Federation).

Registration fee

  • Early registration - €25.00 (for registrations and payments made from 1 April 2025 to 30 September 2025)
  • Regular application - €35.00 (for applications and payments made 1 October 2025 - 28 February 2026)
  • Late application - €50.00 (for applications and payments made from 01.03.2026 to 19.03.2026)

Race route

  • West side of the HFU roadway – northbound travel towards Vukovarska
  • turn left onto Vukovarska and continue along the southern carriageway of Vukovarska towards Savska (the intersection of Savska and Vukovarska is 1.5km of the course. The last competitor passes here 9 minutes after the start, meaning around 8:09am)
  • turn left into Savska
  • Savska to Prisavlje Street (the intersection of Savska and Prisavlje is 2.6km of the course. The last competitor passes here 20 minutes after the start, which means around 9:20)
  • Turn onto Prisavlje Street and continue along the southern Prisavlje road through HRT all the way to Paromlinska Road.
  • Turn left onto Paromlinska Road and immediately exit onto Slavonska Avenue.
  • Slavonski to the first right turn onto Av. Većeslava Holjevac, across the Freedom Bridge to the access road to the parking lot behind the INA building
  • turn right onto the access road towards the eastern entrance to the Zagreb Fair –
  • straight to the eastern entrance to the Zagreb Fair –
  • left onto the access road along the eastern side of the Zagreb Fair –
  • along the access road all the way to Dubrovnik Avenue –
  • on the far right lane of Dubrovnik Avenue –
  • Follow the southern access road to the west until you reach Cimermanova – right into Cimermanova
  • Cimmermanova all the way to Antallova – right in Antallova –
  • Antallova until the left turn into Tomljanovićeva (the branch that leads under the bridge towards Bundek)
  • Tomljanovićeva along the road, passing under the bridge all the way to the embankment
  • along the embankment – ​​before the end of the road turn right towards Tomljanovićeva
  • turn right into Tomljanovićeva
  • Tomljanovićev to the Federal Republic of Germany
  • along the eastern roadway of the Federal Republic of Germany to the middle of the street where we make a semi-circle turn (passage) and return along the western roadway of the Federal Republic of Germany to Tomljanovićeva
  • turn left into Tomljanovićeva
  • Tomljanovićeva to Većeslava Holjevac Avenue
  • turn right onto Većeslava Holjevac Avenue
  • on the eastern carriageway of Većeslava Holjevac Avenue, across the Freedom Bridge towards the Croatian Federal University
  • HFU on the eastern road towards Vukovarska
  • turn left across the sidewalk towards the west carriageway of the CFU
  • turn left onto the westbound carriageway of the HFU
  • HFU to NSB (first round) And entry into the second round of the race.

The second round continues with the CFU crossing the Freedom Bridge.

  • along the western carriageway of Većeslava Holjevaca Avenue to Dubrovnik Avenue –
  • turn left across the sidewalk towards the eastern carriageway of Većeslava Holjevac Avenue and return towards the Freedom Bridge
  • CFU across the Freedom Bridge on the eastern roadway
  • HFU on the eastern road towards Vukovarska –
  • turn left across the sidewalk towards the western carriageway of the CFU –
  • turn left onto the western carriageway of the HFU –
  • HFU to NSB
